Summary:
The Site Safety Training Coordinator will conduct safety trainings on the Blue Oval site under the direction of the Site Safety Manager.
The Site Safety Training Coordinator will also make safety observations in the field when training sessions are not being held under the direction of an experienced safety professional.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
Coordinates the safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
Evaluates the effectiveness of safety programs.
Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
Prepares and implements departmental budget.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to conduct training.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.
Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
